Troubleshooting the connection to the database

Sometimes you may experience problems while connecting to the database. Following are some possible causes and recommended actions you may take to fix the problem.

  • The username and password specified are not correct
  • The location of database is incorrect
  • You have defined incorrect data source
  • The database name is incorrect
  • Database server is unavailable

Some of the error messages you’ll see in this case are.

  • Unable to connect
  • Could not connect to the database
  • Invalid user ID or Password
  • Try again to connect with the correct user ID and password
  • Database server not found

Make sure that the database information you have provided is correct, try again after providing correct username, password and database name. Contact technical department, if the problem persists.
